How We Research Tours
Where our tour data comes from and how we check it.
Every tour we write about comes from the Viator Partner API, a global marketplace of tours and experiences. We import the operator's own structured data — title, description, itinerary, inclusions and exclusions, duration, meeting arrangements, cancellation policy, rating and review count — and store a timestamped snapshot of it.
How we check it
- We only state tour-specific facts that appear in the verified source data.
- We never invent prices, review numbers, itinerary stops, or operating hours.
- Prices, when shown, are operator estimates that vary by option and group size — never a live quote.
- When information is uncertain or time-sensitive, we explain the conditions instead of guessing.
What we exclude
In line with our content policy, we automatically screen out and do not promote experiences involving wine, pork, gambling, or dancing clubs. Every other experience is accepted.
Keeping guides current
We re-check tours when their source data changes materially — a changed itinerary, new restrictions, or a tour becoming unavailable — and update the relevant parts of the guide rather than rewriting it on a timer.
